What’s a song lyric that has stuck with you forever?

Diana Ross’ “Touch Me in The Morning” has stuck with me forever! When I hear the lyrics, I am transported back to junior high school, to I. S. 318, to music class. That was our song! Our class, our chorus, sang our hearts out, deeply moved by lyrics we were yet to understand!

Touch me in the mornin’

Then just walk away

We don’t have tomorrow

But we had yesterday

We lived in the moment. We knew we had yesterday. We were unsure about tomorrow.

Hormones were raging and our brains were developing at the speed of light. We would take quantum jumps into the unknown. But we had that song. We had the memories from yesterday that we brought into tomorrow, if we were fortunate enough to experience tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow…
